Testimonials- In Their Own Words
Tim and Melissa with Henry, Weagle and Stella
"We contacted Greg at Personal Dog Training because our newest rescue beagle was so energetic that we didn't know how to control him. We thought he was just a very high-energy dog as it seemed there wasn't any amount of walking or playing that would slow him down. We even considered going to the vet for medication for him but decided to try training first. After just one session with Greg, we saw a significant difference in our dog's personality as he taught us how to better communicate with our dog. It turns out he wasn't a high energy dog at all-he just didn't understand what we expected of him. We have now had three sessions with Greg and have seen a total change in our dog's behavior. Greg has also been able to help us incorporate the things we have learned into our interaction with our other two beagles and we are thrilled at the behavioral difference we're seeing in them all. It really does make such a difference when you are able to speak to your dogs in "their" language. Greg has an amazing gift in knowing how to communicate with animals and his love for them very clearly shows through. He made us all very comfortable from our first session and hopeful that we could learn how to make our situation better. We are thankful to have found him and know we can always call him for any issues we run into with our dogs. We would, without hesitation, highly recommend him to anyone who is having any type of behavioral issues with their dogs" |
Cassie with Yahoo, Ginny and Una “Shortly after adopting Una from my local Humane Society she attacked and almost killed my 10 year old boxer Yahoo. I was dedicated to keeping Una but did not know what to do. Once Yahoo recovered enough to come home from the veterinarian I made sure to keep them separated since I was fearful that another attack would occur. I contacted the Humane Society and they told me about Greg Winters and Personal Dog Training and I reached out to him to see if he could assist me. Until I met and started working with Greg I thought I would have to keep Una and Yahoo separated forever. Greg helped to rebuild my confidence and he was willing and able to help me take the baby steps needed to address the fear I had. I never thought Una and Yahoo would be able to be in the same room together. Now, not only can I walk them together we are able to spend time together as one happy little family as I had always intended. Thanks Greg.” |
Martha and Izzy "When I contacted Greg of Personal Dog Training my dog Izzy was destructive and had been chewing pillows and other items while I was at work. When going for walks she would pull so hard when she saw birds or rabbits she would just about knock me down. I was worried one day she would break free and get hit by a car. She would also get overly excited, whining and panting during car rides and I had no idea how to help her. I had already worked with another dog trainer and felt dejected and hopeless when it led to no change in Izzy’s behavior. It all changed upon meeting Greg. He understood Izzy and her behavior and he could act as a translator between us. He coached me and helped me to learn how to communicate and teach Izzy. I can now walk her without pulling, channel and manager her prey drive, help her relax during car rides and she is no longer destructive. Izzy loves uncle Greg and I am thankful that I have the relationship with her I had always wanted." |
Emily with Lou and Cotton "I reached out to Personal Dog Training due to issues I was having with my two dogs. Lou had aggression issues especially with other dogs that made bringing him out in public a nerve wracking experience and Cotton often became over excited and unmanageable. I avoided walking them because I was unable to control their behavior. After a few sessions with Greg I have learned how to lead my dogs with skill and confidence. I have learned that my energy affects my dogs and when I am nervous or unsure I have no chance of leading them. Greg’s approach of working with the dog and owner at their home, in their own neighborhood has allowed me to address situations I face daily that could not have been handled in a classroom setting. Greg is clearly dedicated to his work, loves dogs, and has a gift in working with and reading their behaviors. Now when Cotton gets overly excited I can effectively address it and Lou has recently made his first visit ever to a dog park.” |
Jana and Miss Willis "When I rescued my 18 month old pit bull mix Miss Willis she had spent her entire life tied up in a yard with very little social interaction and no training. Our first week together was horrendous and I almost gave up. In a last ditch effort I called Personal Dog Training. After three sessions with Greg my ability to communicate with and manage Miss Willis' high energy level was no longer an issue. Today I was walking Miss Willis and my neighbor was in her front yard. She said "did you get another dog?" I asked her what she meant. She couldn't believe the dog I was walking on a loose leash, who sat down when we approached her was the same dog." |
Thomas and Tippi “At 3 months old, our Tippi met Greg Winters of Personal Dog Training for the first time. Greg helped us in training our Tippi into a well-balanced and well behaved puppy. He gave us the tools to work with Tippi so she would be well adjusted as she goes through life. Greg goes beyond just the mechanics of dog training as he showed us the psychology in raising a happy and healthy puppy. We are incredibly grateful to Greg for all his hard work and expertise. We highly recommend Greg's services. A small investment in the beginning with training your puppy, will give you a lifetime of rewards!” |
Laurie with Bentley and Riley "When I contacted Personal Dog Training my Pomeranian Bentley was almost five years old and had lived his life with very few rules. I had recently adopted a second dog Riley who was displaying unsure and fearful behavior. Bentley and Riley really had no interest in interacting with each other. Greg was so great with both dogs and helped me address their issues which has led to Riley and Bentley becoming best friends. Bentley knows the rules and Riley is no longer unsure or insecure. I really had thought it was a lost cause, but that was not the case. Thanks to Greg and Personal Dog Training we are one little happy family now!” |
